Kajang Line, MRT Staff Tested Positive For Covid-19 Today

RAPID Rail Sdn Bhd today reported that a staff of the Mass Rapid Transit ( MRT) of the Kajang Line, who works as a train operator, has been tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently quarantined at Sungai Buloh Hospital.

The affected staff’s last duty was on 21st October 2020. It is stated that trains are indeed set to undergo disinfection and cleaning work every night after operating. 

All other staff who had close contact with the staff have been asked to undergo a 14-day self quarantine and screening test as stipulated under the MOH’s standard operating procedures (SOP).

According to the declaration, all relevant authorities, including the National Security Council, the Ministry of Transport and the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), have been informed of the measures taken.

However, Kajang MRT line and all other public transport services controlled by Prasarana Sdn Bhd, including Light Rail Transit ( LRT), Monorail, Rapid Transit Bus and the bus stops , are safe to use.

Thus, people who commute by public transport are advised to obey the stipulated SOPs, such as wearing face masks, doing the body temperature checks and registering with the MySejahtera application or in the log book before entering the train, as specified in the statement.
