The country has reported 649 Covid-19 cases today (29th October) from 801 cases yesterday, bringing cumulative cases in the country to 30,090. Although the number of cases has significantly declined today, the Ministry of Health (MoH) is actively conducting screening and active case detection nationwide.
Of the 649 cases, seven (7) were imported cases and zero fatalities have been recorded today. Health Director-General, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that 685 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals today, taking the current rate of recoveries to 19,757 (65.66 percent of the total cases).
On the other side, a standard operating procedure (SOP) for next month’s Deepavali celebration will be formulated by the National Security Council ( NSC). Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said he would announce the SOP upon the special ministerial meeting’s approval. He also mentioned that the council will detail the do’s and don’ts to the public to ensure that the SOPs are strictly practiced during the festive season.
Today’s case drop comes as good news for the nation. Let us continue joining hands as fellow Malaysians and break the Covid-19 chain. Together, we can!
In the meantime, until a vaccine is developed, stay safe, stay healthy and don’t forget to adhere to the SOP’s!
