Malaysia, being runned down by the third wave of the Covid-19 Pandemic is currently under a deep crisis in resurfacing from the massive outbreak that has overhelmed the entire country with over 33, 339 positive cases and 251 deaths.
The Covid updates for today are as follows;
Seremban Is Imposed With CMCO, Effective From November 5th 2020
Beginning November 5th 2020, a two-week Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) will be enforced in the Seremban district in Negeri Sembilan.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that;
“After receiving advice from the MoH and receiving information about the Covid-19 situation in the Seremban district, the NSC has agreed to impose the CMCO in the district from Nov 5 to 18, 2020 which will cover nine subdistricts,”
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Senior Minister (Defense Cluster), stated that the move was made following advice from the Ministry of Health ( MOH), which was addressed in a special meeting with the National Security Council.
2 Staffs From Parliament Confirmed With Covid Positive
During tests conducted in Parliament last Wednesday and Friday, a media staff and an assistant to a senator were found to be COVID-19 positive, according to Parliament Chief Administrator Datuk Kamis Samin said today.
“Shortly after the test results were collected, the required follow-up action was taken by the Ministry of Health ( MOH),” he said while commenting on news reports yesterday about COVID-19 being found positive by some individuals on duty in Parliament.
The swab tests, performed by MOH prior to yesterday ‘s latest Dewan Rakyat session, included all of Parliament’s officers and employees, including auxiliary police, official media staff, and Members of Parliament.
6 Members From The Royal Selangor Gold Club Are Covid-19 Positive
Royal Selangor Golf Club, Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur has just announced that 6 positive case has been reported there, with five members of the club and one employee.
The club stated that the new cases tested positive and was admitted to hospital for further care. The club is already undergoing sanitisation and will remain closed until further notice.
Staff At Maybank, Petaling Jaya, Sea Park, Selangor Tests Positive COVID-19
Maybank ‘s Sea Park branch reported in a circular yesterday that an employee had come into close contact with an Person Under Investigation (PUI) for Covid-19.
As such, from Nov 2 until further notice, the branch is closed immediately for deep cleaning and sanitisation with immediate effect. The circular suggested daily clients to use the online banking system or visit the nearby SS2 or Jalan 222 branches.
8 KPJ Penang Staffs Test Confirm COVID-19 Positive
Eight front lines of the KPJ Specialist Hospital in Penang tested positive for Covid-19.
The hospital said in a statement today that on Oct 31, an inpatient was reported as Covid-19 positive and the staffs may have possibly contracted due to that.
KPJ Penang performed the examination and the patient was referred for treatment to a government health facility.
COVID-19 Situation In Sabah Is Well Controlled
The Ministry of Health ( MOH) is well prepared to deal with the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, which seems to be more complex and difficult.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that, in addition to multiple claims on the deteriorated reports in Sabah pertaining to COVID-19 with shortages on hospital beds and personal protective equipment ( PPE), are actually all untrue.
Besides that, in an innitiative in mobilising staff and resources in advance, the government has approved RM25 million in emergency procurement, of which RM18 million is for EPP and another RM7 million is to be allocated to hospitals in each districts of Sabah.
EMCO Ends For Few Prisons In Malaysia
Yesterday, the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) imposed at several prisons nationwide was lifted, according to Datuk Seri Datuk Seri Zulkifli Omar, Director-General of the Prisons Department.
The prisons lifted of from the EMCO inniative are Tapah Prison, Taiping Prison, Kamunting Correctional Centre, Sungai Buloh Remand Prison, Kajang Prison, Puncak Alam Correctional Centre, Kajang Women’s Prison, Sungai Petani Prison and Perlis Correctional Centre.
In accordance with the Ministry of Health ( MoH), the Prisons Department performed 63,730 screenings on prisoners, staff and family members systematically between Sept 1 till Nov 2.
Reports state that implementation of quarantine and lockdown measures against prisoners as well as inmates, resulted in the Covid-19 outbreak in the prisons to be contained and be under control.
The prisoners, employees, their families and those who may have contracted the coronavirus positive cases will be confined to strict quarantine, in addition to adhering to strict SOPs set by the Ministry of Health (MOH).
