Following recent speculation of Covid-19 cases around the Jalan Kasah area, the Vintry Group of Wine Bars & Restaurants confirmed two Covid-19 cases among its workers from its Medan Damansara branch here.

The two construction sites, Phase 2 of the Damansara Heights Pavilion and PARC3 in Cheras, have been closed in the meantime. Both positive Covid-19 employees have since been admitted to the hospital and close contacts are quarantined by the manager in hotels.

It was reported that 460 out of 465 cases in KL originated from dormitories of foreign workers from the Damanlela construction site cluster in Pusat Bandar Damansara.

According to the statement posted on their official Facebook page, the employer has sent all staff members of Vintry Damansara for Covid-19 screening as a precaution because of the high number of cases in the vicinity.

On 11th November 2020, the Ministry of Health (MOH) had urged the manager to take those construction workers who were residing in a few houses along Jalan Kasah for Covid-19 screening.

Both affected workers were asymptomatic and were last present for work at Vintry Damansara on Monday, 16th November and Tuesday 17th November respectively. Both workers kept their face masks in accordance with the Health Ministry’s guidelines and exercised regular hand sanitisation while on duty.

Workers in touch with the infected staff will have to receive screening checks and in compliance with MOH’s protocols, will be put in strict quarantine. Until further notice, Vintry Damansara, Stoked Restaurant and Toji Sake Bar will close for extensive sanitisation.

Meanwhile, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has declared that the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) on the construction sites of the Damanlela cluster in Kuala Lumpur do not need to be implemented.
