A Social Distancing Order In Tamil By The Police? Yes, You Heard It Right

Since the pandemic, we’ve certainly come across one too many public announcements made by the police at residential areas and commercial business centres to retain social distance and to stick to the SOPs that have been enforced too many times by the government. The announcements are usually made in Bahasa Malaysia.

However, recently, a 27 seconds long video went viral after it was posted on Tamizhar Media Facebook page.

It was a video of the police requesting for the public to adhere to the SOPs implemented by the government and practise social distancing in Tamil.

Not only was it surprising to hear the announcement in Tamil, but it was also really fascinating attributing a positive response from the public, turning heads all around.

The Tamil announcement demonstrates the melting pot of races in Malaysia. Can we look forward to hearing an announcement in Mandarin soon?
