Malaysians in six states are left with no choice but to welcome the Movement Control Order (MCO) period widely known as MCO 2.0. The enforcement had taken place on 13th January and is expected to end on 26th January but little do we know that it could be extended to another 2 (two) weeks bringing it to 4 (four) weeks in totality.

This move was announced by Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah stating that the MCO would not be extended further due to the detrimental effects it could have on the country’s economy.

Dr Noor Hisham also said that after the 4 week MCO period, the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) would be re-enforced in all the six states. On the first day of the revived lockdown, health authorities plan to monitor Malaysia’s Covid-19 infection rate for a 12 week duration in order to flatten the Covid-19 chain.

Meanwhile, the CMCO will remain for Pahang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan, while Perlis and Sarawak will continue its Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

Malaysia reported the highest Covid-19 cases on 14th January compared to the rest of the days .

THE HIGH SURGE OF COVID-19 CASES CERTAINLY PUT THE NATION IN A SEEMINGLY TOUGH SITUATION THAT HAS IGNITED STRESS AND WORRY, PROMPTING THE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO TAKE ALL PROACTIVE STEPS TO CURB THE CONTINUOUS SPREAD OF THE DEADLY VIRUS.

Do we need another 2 weeks extension of the Movement Control Order? In the comment section below, share your views with us. Your views matter to us!
