According to the National Film Production Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), filming activities are not permitted during this Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0 in the six states namely Penang, Selangor, Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan), Melaka, Johor and Sabah.
FINAS’s chairman, Zakaria Abdul Hamid has mentioned that this was because the creative industry was not listed among the economic sectors that were permitted to function during the MCO.
Meanwhile, according to Bernama in areas that are placed under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), filming operations could go on as normal.
Film directors can comply with all National Security Council directives and basic operating procedures, including disease prevention and restraint policies, health screening, washing and disinfection of buildings, physical distancing and protective procedures for staff, and emergency response procedures.
