An announcement was made by Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, during the Pakej Bantuan Khas speech on Monday (18th January).
An advance payment of up to RM1,000 for the i-Sinar Category 2 facility application would be provided by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
The initiative is to improve the i-Sinar facility, especially for those facing different challenges due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) as well as flood disasters, said Muhyiddin.
The advance payment process for i-Sinar Category 2 is also simplified as members only need to declare themselves to meet the requirements and submit supporting documents online.
The government has also asked EPF to facilitate and make the advance payment process convenient, which will take effect from 26th January onwards.
“More information will be announced by EPF in the near future,” said the Prime Minister.
