This news is to chime like a sweet melody to the ears of all restaurateurs!

After an assiduous plead and negotiation with the authorities, the government has finally agreed to the grouses raised by restaurant owners and customers alike by extending the operating hours of eateries in light of the Movement Control Order (MCO) extension till 4th February.

All restaurants are now allowed to be open from 6.00 am to 10 pm commencing today, 22nd January 2021.

The good news was announced by Senior Defense Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob yesterday. (21st January).

Nevertheless, this leniency comes with stringent SOPs that shall be abided by all restaurants. As this entire nation is drenched with the third wave of the Covid-19 outbreak, the authorities are on a do or die mission in combating this deadly virus.

With the extension, the rule of no dine-in will continue with only take-away and deliveries allowed. All staff and crew members are to follow proper protocols diligently by wearing gloves and masks when serving or preparing food to avoid virus contraction.

Meanwhile, please avoid excessive travelling, sanitise your hands and always wear your face masks. Shower immediately upon returning back home. Folks above the age of 60 and kids below the age of 12 are advised to stay home as much as they can and avoid crowded places.

Come on all, be disciplined in adhering to the SOPs set by the government. We are all tired of running through the same cycle again and again for more than a year now!
