Suriya’s upcoming 36th film, NGK will mark the first time this Indian cinema A-lister is collaborating with Selvaraghavan (Ayirathil Oruvan, Mayakkam Enna). Selvaraghavan who is, of course, Dhanush’s brother.
Because of the familial ties, some recent reports have suggested that Dhanush will be lending his voice for a song in NGK. In the past, acclaimed actor Dhanush has proven that he has one hell of a singing voice, coming onboard as a playback singer for some of his brother’s films like Aayirathil Oruvan and Mayakkam Enna. His most popular song to date is arguably still ‘Why this Kolaveri Di’ for the film 3, helmed by his wife, Aishwarya.

However, according to the Times of India, producer SR Prabhu has come out and denied these baseless claims. This piece of news will come as a blow to Dhanush fans. The last time Dhanush signed on as a playback singer was in 2017, for VIP 2.

Dhanush has three films currently in the works right now, namely Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai, Gautham Menon’s Enai Noki Paayum Thota and Balaji Mohan’s Maari 2. While it’s still unclear if he will also be singing in any of those movies, it’s safe to assume that he most likely will be for Maari 2.
