As the current curated state of the country reached a bounty peak of COVID-19 cases merely due to interstate travels and lesser restrictions imposed during the former CMCO, Malaysians were all gushed into a second lockdown phase.

With netizens expecting the strict protocols and SOPs’ to come to an end due to the Movement Control Order (MCO 2.0), the government has now pleasantly allowed certain business enterprises to resume business due to the huge economical impact that resulted from the initial and current MCO.

Senior Minister (Security cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has declared that all restaurants, retail business outlets, creative industries (filming & studios) and sports activities shall operate as usual  commencing 10th February 2021.

SOPs must be explicitly abided by all restaurants, eateries, sport centers, film industries and retail business outlets. It includes a social distance of at least 1 metre apart while ensuring they scan  themselves through the MySejahtera app and have their temperatures mandatorily checked.

On the specified period of operation, industries that are allowed to resume as normal must restrict the number of  crowd and maintain crowd control at entry and exit points.

The move by the government was initiated to help businesses stay afloat at the same time boost the economy that has plunged since the first MCO implementation in March 2020. The implementation of the MCO resulted in high unemployment which severely impacted and drained thousands of families and households in the country.

However, fellow Malaysians should use the leniency allowed with utmost discipline! COVID-19 cases in the country is still at an alarming state with 13 deaths reported yesterday.

Bare in mind folks, our negligence is paid with the loss of one’s life

Breaching the SOPs could possibly result in the extension of MCO 2.0. Do you really want that? Hence, if you don’t and want your life to have some sort of NEW NORMALCY, please adhere and follow the necessary SOPs put in place by the government.
