Papanasam is a movie that was a commercial success among the Tamil audience. Well, many would have known that the Kamal-starer movie was actually a remake of Drishyam, a Malayalam movie with Mohanlal as its lead cast.
A large audience was drawn to the blockbuster Malayalam movie ‘Drishyam’ and the movie allegedly attracted high numbers at the box office.
The movie makers recently released the trailer of Drishyam 2 which will be released on Amazon Prime worldwide. There’s also a buzz though, if there will be a sequel to Papanasam.
Kamal Haasan came forward to do the Tamil remake with the same director, Jeethu Joseph, upon seeing the success of Mohanlal‘s Drishyam. In Tamil, the film was titled Papanasam and received positive reviews from the audience. In the remake, Kamal Haasan almost recreated the original magic.
Having said that, I guess we have to wait and see if the team goes with a single edition or prefers to release it in multiple languages as well.
