A Malaysian short film aptly titled Jaanu goes beyond the boundaries of entertainment solely; movies that encourage, empower, and make you feel grateful for having a uterus in general.
Jaanu is a unique and inspiring short film. The short film depicts how women should react when faced with unexpected situations and aims to empower women to protect themselves from possible threats and dangerous situations. Pavetraa Reddy, Suresh Kayar, Kajen Naicker, Naventhiran Thandapani, Prabhu Khan, Mythily Gunasegaran, and Thevaguru Suppiah star in the short film.
Helmed by Deepak Fain and produced by RJ Vengkat Khan, the short film portrays a girl named Jaanu who faces trouble in her family and also in her college. Will she get rid and overcome her troubles? Will she fight for her rights?
Each one serves as a reminder that, once women set their minds to something, anything is possible; from sending a rocket into space, and drumming up the courage to swim against the tide.
The real-life phenomenon is also incredibly uplifting to see how their actions paved the way for further progress down the line.
