When Shalini Balasundaram’s Geethaiyin Raadhai opened cinemas back in 2016, it instantly became a hit.
Aside from the gripping love story, every song in the movie was memorable and perfectly captured the tone and essence of the story. The person responsible for that is none other than Ztish – one of Malaysia’s young and prominent music director.
Ztish is known for his musical prowess and his ability to make every song a masterstroke. Having said that, it comes as little surprise that director Shalini Balasundaram wanted to work with Ztish again. She has roped him into her upcoming movie, Thirudathey Papa Thirudathey.
We recently contacted Ztish to find out what is his composition style and inspiration for Thirudathey Papa Thirudathey – which is set to hit cinemas in August.
“So, Thirudathey Papa Thirudathey is slightly more complex because there are actually two different storylines merging into one. I faced a lot of challenges there,” Ztish told Varnam.my.
“There are two sides to the story, two different genre. One is a dark side, and one is a happier side. Scoring both differently is okay, but the challenge was how to combine the dark and happy elements together,”
“The thing about Shalini is she gives me a lot of references. So that, coupled with my imagination, is how is come up with the songs,” Ztish said.
So far, two songs from the movie, “Valikkirathey” and “Nee Arugil” are already available on YouTube and they have received a tonne of positive feedbacks.
Are you excited to listen to rest of Ztish’s songs for the movie? Thirudathey Papa Thirudathey will open in cinemas on the 16th of August.
