According to a note posted on the Sri Sithi Vinayagar Temple’s Facebook page on Wednesday (17th March), three devotees tested positive for Covid-19. It is said that the temple which is located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor will be closed until further notice.
The closing was necessary to allow for sanitisation work on the premises.
According to the notice:
All three devotees were at the temple on the morning of 11th March and one of them also attended the Mahasivarathiri prayers on the same night.
The notice also advised devotees to exercise caution and self-quarantine. Devotees were also urged to seek medical attention if they experience any form of symptoms.
Even if you have the most common symptoms including a fever, a dry cough, or nausea, don’t hesitate to seek medical help.
The regular live streaming of pooja (worship ritual) will begin as planned, according to the temple.
