The Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0 is back with six districts in Selangor that have been recently imposed with the directive namely Hulu Langat, Petaling, Gombak, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob made the announcement during a press conference today, stating that the implementation of the MCO will be effective from 6th May till 17th May.

However, the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) remains in Selangor’s three other districts namely Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor.

The authorities are expected to make surprise visits to households during the Raya season in order to deter inter-district and interstate travel due to another wave of Covid-19 cases in the country.

The MCO has yet again been enforced by the government due to the consistent rise of Covid-19 cases in the country in recent weeks. Initially, cases had dropped but continued to rise again mainly due to the Ramadan bazaars that were in full operation.

In a twist of events, Ismail Sabri said that Ramadan bazaars will be allowed to operate as usual with strict SOPs. He also added that its operation would depend on state governments across the country.
