Vishwaroopam 2 Receives 22 Cuts From Censor Board!

The highly anticipated Vishwaroopam 2 will be hitting cinemas tomorrow. The first movie touched on the Muslim religion and terrorism and as a result, received severe backlash from various political parties. The film was initially banned in India and then later banned in Malaysia too. While Vishwaroopam 2 doesn’t seem to be suffering a fate as severe as that, it is reportedly heavily scrutinized by the Indian censorship board.

As reported by Times of India, the CBFC board (Central Board of Film Certification) has made a whopping 22 cuts to the movie. However, most of the cuts made are towards gory and extremely violent scenes. In addition to that, certain dialogues (which we’re assuming has to do with religion) have also been muted.

Directed by Kamal Haasan, Vishwaroopam 2 features Kamal Haasan in the leading role, with the likes of Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Shekhar Kapur, Rahul Bose and Jaideep Ahlawat in supporting roles. The film will feature music by Ghibran who previously worked together with Kamal Haasan in Thoongaavanam and Papanasam.
