One of the highly anticipated Indian films of 2018 is none other than Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam which stars a whole bunch of A-listers and big names such as Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay (the hot villain from Yennai Arindhaal), Arvind Swami, Jyothika, Prakash Raj, and many many more. And now, the producers have finally announced a release date: September 28. Mark your calendars, people!
Although we’ve already gotten the release date, the film’s plot is still kept under wraps. As of right now, we know that the film is reportedly a crime-thriller, but even in that regard, there seem to be conflicting reports — the film is categorized as a drama on IMDb. Could this be a departure from Mani Ratnam’s usual style (his two best films, Nayakan and Thalapathi are political dramas)?
Times of India also reports that Vijay Sethupathi will be playing a cop, Simbu an Engineer and Arvind Swami a politician while Arjun Vijay will assume the role of a villain. A trailer is yet to be released.
