A Video That Might Make Us Think Twice About Getting Vaccinated

While many are urging netizens to get vaccinated in order to combat Covid-19, shocking news has caused them to reconsider their decision.

Two vaccine recipients have allegedly claimed that they did not receive the correct amount of vaccine dosage. It’s less than the prescribed amount.

One of them, Anoogrehan Manoharan, a marketer who recorded himself getting vaccinated, noticed that he may not have received the full vaccination dose.

Anoogrehan was vaccinated around 10am on 19th May. He went to the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL), which manages the COVID-19 vaccines from AstraZeneca and Oxford University.

“I saw it and I thought the dosage amount looked strange as I’ve seen in other videos. I thought it was strange but I wasn’t sure, so I met with a few of my friends who work in the medical sector. Many of them told me I may have received a smaller dose than needed.”

The 48-year-old also claimed that the person who performed the injection did not write their name on his consent form, implying that he may not have received the full vaccination dose. When he complained about it yesterday (20th May), he was told that it was standard procedure.

However, a representative from BP Healthcare, who runs the vaccination centre, reassured him that authorities were looking into his allegations. Anoogrehan said the only side effect of his vaccination was mild pain at the injection site when asked about it.

The contents of the 1ml injection syringe were less than half the length of the syringe, as seen in the video from KiniTV. One dose of AstraZeneca vaccine is 0.5ml, according to the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Division (NPRA) website. The other vaccines have different dosages, with the Pfizer vaccine requiring 0.3ml and the Sinovac vaccine requiring 0.5ml.

The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) is currently looking into two cases that have similar allegations. Both incidents are said to have occurred on 19th May at WTCKL. Both vaccine recipients have been identified, according to the CITF, and a thorough investigation is underway.

“CITF would like to emphasise that we always prioritise the service quality of all health professionals involved under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Program (NIP) including private medical practitioners managed by the ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd involved in the NIP. We will not hesitate to take action against those who do not comply with the standards we set or violate any rules.”

Hence, what we’re saying is that those who registered for the vaccines need to be extra cautious while receiving vaccine doses. Don’t, meanwhile, hesitate to get vaccinated. It’s understandable that such news would frighten us. However, in the fight against COVID-19, this vaccine is extremely crucial.
