While the fortunate are surviving reasonably well in these times of crisis, there are some out there who are struggling and getting by on just a mere RM10 a day, and it’s all because of inevitable effects caused by the pandemic.
Mr Palas Suparmaniam, a father of four, is said to be in this situation. According to World of Buzz, he owns and operates a small sundry shop near the Coliseum Cafe & Grill Room KL, where he sells drinks, biscuits, snacks, and newspapers.
Meet Balasubramaniam. He is one of the many Malaysians who have been affected by the #TotalLockdown. He is unsure whether he can still support his family in the coming days.

When compared to larger companies, most small businesses that rely on day-to-day profit are severely affected during this pandemic. Mr Palas acknowledged that he was unsure if he could continue to support his family in these trying times.
According to a tweet by @Elill E Mr Palas said,
“I only made RM10 today and my rent for this lot is RM1,200.”
The 61-year-old sent his older son to Singapore to study, but he was unable to continue supporting the son in his studies. He also mentioned that he had a daughter who taught piano lessons to help support the family financially, but even so, their situation is precarious.
In desperate need of financial assistance, he claims that his application for Bantuan Sara Hidup (BRIM) was turned down, and that he can now only support his family and pay his rent through his small business.
Kind hearted and generous souls out there, if you are moved and would like to give this uncle a helping hand, you can make a donation to his Maybank account, which is mentioned above.
INFO : A lot of you texted me saying the “transaction can’t go through”. I spoke to him and he said even he was not sure why but I’m guessing it’s because there’s been too many transactions today. He is currently to reach out to @MyMaybank to find out the issue. pic.twitter.com/b5fNFW8xML

However, his bank account is currently experiencing some issues, according to a recent update. He is unsure what is causing the problem, but it could be due to the high volume of transactions he has been receiving. The small time business owner is currently in contact with Maybank in an attempt to resolve the situation.
