After the 359th Drug Control Authority (DCA) meeting on June 15th stating that children aged 12 and above are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, with that a new update has been invented by the MySejahtera’s app creators to enable a feature allowing parents to register their pre-teens and teenagers for the vaccine.
Here is what parents should do;
They can now register by choosing the “Add Vaccine Dependent” option under the “Vaccination” category and entering their child’s relevant data.
Initially, the MySejahtera application only allowed those over the age of 18 to be registered. The column has been changed since its last update to “I confirm that my dependent is over the age of 12.”
Please bear in mind that once you’ve added this dependent to your account, this person’s IC number cannot be registered on another MySejahtera app. Several people have tried and succeeded in registering their high school teenagers on MySejahtera.

The use of Comirnaty vaccine produced by Pfizer-BioNTech for children aged 12 and older was approved by the 359th Drug Control Authority (DCA) meeting yesterday.
Comirnaty was previously accepted for conditional registration for active immunisation of individuals aged 18 and above, according to Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Dr Hisham in a statement had previously said;
“Even though the additional indications were approved, the Ministry of Health is of the view that the priority of vaccination is still for high-risk groups in line with the existing policy set under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme. ”
According to the health director-general, MOH is constantly improving public health in the battle against COVID-19 by acquiring vaccinations that have been examined by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) for quality, safety,effectiveness and approved by DCA.
He stated that the government is dedicated to ensuring that Malaysians attain herd immunity in accordance with the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program’s aim.
