Astro has recently launched the new Ultra Plug & Play Box, offering customers an uninterrupted experience of the best of international and local content without a satellite dish, all part of the new Astro experience to offer customers more choices, real value, and flexibility in a streaming world.

The new Ultra Plug & Play Box is a first-of-its-kind offering that allows customers to self-install and enjoy the Ultra Box features of Cloud Recording and Play from Start by simply connecting the box to the TV and internet to begin watching popular shows right away. The simple steps in the installation guide video that comes with the box make installation a breeze.

  • The new Ultra Plug & Play box works without a satellite dish thus reducing rain fade issues
  • Easy self-installation without installer appointments
  • The Ultra Plug & Play experience works best when integrated with Astro Broadband. Enables streaming of 65K videos on demand

The Ultra Plug & Play self-install box is being released at a critical juncture in the country’s history, when customers may want to limit installation visits to their homes. Because the Astro content is streamed over broadband, this box does not require a satellite dish.

Customers will receive the new box and the Astro SIM Card via courier, and each component is packaged with an easy step-by-step instruction guide for installation and activation of the service. Meanwhile, customers can activate their subscription on the Astro GO app and enjoy all of their entitlement with the Astro GO pre-access service while waiting for the Ultra Plug & Play Box to be delivered to their homes.

The Ultra Plug & Play Box works best when combined with Astro & Broadband bundles for greater savings and the convenience of a single bill. New Astro customers can sign up for Super Pack Lite and 100 Mbps internet speed and receive monthly rebates of up to RM45, while existing Super Pack Lite customers can add 100Mbps broadband for only RM89. The Ultra Plug & Play Box activation is free for all Broadband customers on any plan.

Stream top sporting events like the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and the Premier League in 4K HDR quality, as well as the latest Malay dramas Love Elsa and Ratu Ten Pin on Astro RIA, as well as the new Gossip Girl series and Korean drama series, The Devil Judge via On Demand.
