Vada Chennai starring Dhanush is set to hit cinemas this October, in what many are calling a dream project. Dhanush is one of the finest actors working in Indian cinema today, while Vetri Maaran’s previous film Visaranai was selected as India’s official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards. On top of that, the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, who previously composed great scores and soundtracks for films like Kodi and Kaala.
All the songs, as well as the background scores, are now available on the Wunderbar Productions YouTube channel. But what’s also interesting is the video of Santhosh Narayanan breaking down his album (featured video above), giving us a peek at his mindset while writing these scores and soundtracks.
The Vada Chennai album is arguably Santhosh Narayanan’s most unique album to date. His albums are usually louder with heavy riffs from the electric guitar. But here he has given us a number of tracks of the Gaana genre. While his background scores are as epic as ever, this time there’s a different vibration to it.
