Can you shoot a movie in one day and make something good enough to get distribution?

Movies may take us on journeys that last months, years, or decades, but some other films manage to cram intricate plots, genuine character development, and breathtaking emotion within 24 hours.

Well, Suyamvaram has proved that:

“Nothing is impossible with a team that believes in a shared dream.”

When the entire film industry was battling to finish projects on time, this crew produced a full feature-length film in a single day, replete with five wedding scenes, music, and battle sequences.

Yes, could you believe that?

Giridharilal Nagpal, the producer and distributor of the film has signed on 15 filmmakers, including KS Ravikumar, Sundar C, and P Vasu, which seems to intensify the suspense. Perhaps this was the only film till date to accomplish with a major casting coup with as many as 25 lead actors in a single frame.

The 155-minute comic was even entered into the Guinness World Records as the quickest-produced film with an assembled number of actors. In March 1999, the film’s producer, kicked off the premiere with the presence of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan

The film was shot in one day with an estimated 9 associate directors, 45 assistant directors, 19 cameramen, 36 assistant cameraman, nine steady-cam operators, 14 actors, 12 actresses, antagonists, comedians, 5 dance masters, 16 assistants, 140 dancers, stunt coordinators, art directors, and so on.

A simple plot with interesting elements. A 60-year-old man (Vijayakumar) gets a heart attack, and his final request is to arrange the marriages of his nine children. The film’s central theme is the process of finding a good match for them with the help of his doctor. The screenplay is cleverly penned, with little contact between the characters, allowing the majority of their sequences to be filmed independently.

However, I felt that the flick was cluttered and chaotic for the most part due to the involvement of many directors with various concept, but it still has its moments.
