“Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness,” a famous quote by legendary Oprah Winfrey to encourage us to always hustle till we make it.
Dr Naginder Kaur has made us all proud after being appointed as associate professor at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), effective 16th July, 2021. The English language professor began her career at UiTM Perlis Branch in 1993 and now conducts classes for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
It’s certainly not an easy feat, and news about Naginder’’s achievement was buzzworthy among our fellow Malaysians.
Anugerah Buku Negara, Anugerah Akademik UiTM, and Anugerah Penerbitan UiTM Cawangan Perlis are among the honours bestowed upon her. She was also honoured by the Australian government with the coveted Endeavour Award, and her biography was featured in the book Endeavours of Excellence: Over 50 Years of Australian Scholarships, published by Australian Education International (2008).
According to Asiasamachar, on a communal level, the professor is actively involved in Khalsa Diwan efforts under Khalsa Diwan Malaysia (KDM) incepted by the Malaysian Sikh community. Naginder is also Inspector of Punjabi Education Centres (PEC) and is also a certified trainer of Punjabi school teachers under Punjabi Education Trust Malaysia (PETM).
Nothing is impossible for this iron lady and she proved to all her doubters that dreams can come true if you work hard. At our core, we’re all queens!
