As we all know, the death of several school students made headlines after a female activist took to her social media platform by claiming that two pupils from SMK Tasek Damai died as a result of COVID-19 vaccinations. She further alleged that the vaccination adverse effects have affected two other pupils in Lahad Datu, Sabah, and two other teens in Ipoh.

In response to recent rumours, the Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH) has taken steps to dispel the allegations that three teens in Perak and Sabah died after receiving COVID-19 vaccinations.

According to the MOH, the two school students in Ipoh had not received any COVID-19 vaccination prior to their deaths on 18th August and 17th September. There was also no report that a teenager had died after receiving the dosage in Lahad Datu.

The 17-year-old female student from SMK Tasek Damai (in Ipoh) who died on 18th August was a diabetes type 1 patient who required insulin injections. Prior to her death, she was infected with COVID-19, which occurred before the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program for adolescents commenced.

The recent investigation by police officers has revealed that there have been no reports of fatality among teens in Lahad Datu. Referring to the accusation that a teenager died in Lahad Datu.
