Despite being a great cook, she has become the biggest inspiration for those who know her. She’s turning 80 next year and is still going strong. Her desire is that the upcoming generation know and practice traditions that have been in existence for centuries.

According to Siakap Keli, additionally Ammayi also sells traditional pottu or black bindi for newborn babies. The major component in this traditional pottu is the vasambu pottu, commonly known as the sweet flag.
