Young Malaysian ice-skater C. Sree Abiramee will be representing our homeland at the Narva Cup and 44th Volvo Open Cup which is set to take place in October and November 2021.

Despite many fruitful weeks of training, the 10-year-old figure skater was an early bloomer when she was just three years old. The fast learner is trained by experienced and skilled coaches and the dozens of skating videos that she watches daily on YouTube to help improve her form and technique.

The mindset which has driven her to this level is:

“I focus not on the gold medal but on the moment. I am focusing on what I am doing now to break through my performance” – Sree Abiraame

Hailing from Selangor, the Kingsley International School student has amassed up over 50 gold medals throughout several championships and carved her name in the Asia Book of Records (ABOR) as the Youngest to Win Medals at the International Figure Skating 2019 and Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) being the youngest to win “Skate Asia” Figure Skating Competition (Female) in 2017.

In addition to that, the 44th Volvo Open Cup competition is scheduled from 3rd till 7th of November, 2021 to be held in Riga, Latvia, at the Volvo Sports Center. It is an international figure skating competition for the singles and ice dance disciplines in the Senior, Junior, Advanced/Intermediate/Basic Novice, and younger categories.

The event will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2021, the Special Regulations and Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating and Ice Dance 2021, and the relevant ISU Communications.

Wishing you all the best for your upcoming competitions, lil one!
