We fondly remember her as the demure Roja, the unrelenting wife in search of her kidnapped husband in the movie of the same name. Now, Madhoobala is back in Tamil films after a break of almost 20 years, but as the baddie.
In the recently released trailer of Agnidev, lead actor Bobby Simha was spectacular as he always is. But Madhoobala stood out as a character that would give Cruella De Vil the creeps. The actress is playing the antagonist in a Tamil movie for the first time in her career. Others in the cast include Remya Nambeesan and Satish.
Madhoobala took a break from acting in 2000 to focus on her family. She then returned to work in 2008, doing mostly Hindi films. In 2014 we caught a glimpse of her in Dulquer Salman’s Vaayai Moodi Pesavum in a supporting role. Agnidev will be her big comeback to the Tamil film fraternity. Based on the trailer alone, we certainly hope she stays!
Agnidev is a crime thriller based on author Rajeshkumar’s novels. The film is directed by John Paul Raj and Sham Surya. Agnidev is produced by Seantoa Studio is association with Jai Film Productions. The film appears to be a classic murder mystery, and the trailer has got us salivating already.
Earlier this year, Ratsasan has set the bar for crime thrillers with its chilling story and screenplay. We cannot wait for the release of Agnidev, as the trailer surely promises a lot. Isn’t it amazing to see more Tamil movies being churned out in this genre?
