Three Malaysian Indian Academicians Honored As ‘World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists’ In The ‘Energy’ Field

A total number of 12 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) lecturers have been listed as among the world’s “Top 2% Scientist” in various fields and disciplines by Stanford University.

And we are extremely proud of their achievements as three Malaysian Indian academicians were among those listed in the prestigious list. 

Dr. Sudhakar Kumarasamy – Automotive Engineering Research Group (AERG) Faculty

Known as one of the dedicated lecturers, Dr. Sudhakar Kumarasamy was honored among the Stanford University list for his research excellence in the “Energy” field. The list includes over 150,000 scientists whose works have been cited the most by researchers around the world in influential journals, making them the world’s most prominent scientific researchers. 

Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr K. Kumaran – Automotive Engineering Research Group (AERG) Faculty

A professor in the Automotive Engineering Research Group (AERG) faculty, Dr Kumaran has submitted and published research outcomes from AERG amounting to 50 publications in 2020. The number consists of WOS indexed journal, Scopus index journal, and Scopus indexed proceeding. He was the top author for the year 2020 with successfully publishing 25 articles to date. 

Professor Dr Jose Rajan – Industrial Sciences and Technology Faculty

Professor Rajan Jose who works under the Industrial Sciences and Technology faculty supervises the Nanostructured Renewable Energy Materials Laboratory in Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and is the Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Springer Nature journal “Materials Circular Economy”. He served as UMP’s Dean of Research during Feb 2016 – Aug 2019. To date, he has published over 200 papers in the Web of Science (Thomson Reuters) indexed journals which has been cited nearly 10000 times with an h-index of 52. 

Circular economy, data science, renewable materials, and gadgets were among his current research topics; the majority of his research focuses on the structure–property link in materials for the desired device function.

The world “Top 2% of Scientist” is a large database created by experts at Stanford University which ranks all the most-cited scientists from different fields to a sufficient ranking, NST reported.
