Helmed by debutante Franklin Jacob, ‘Writer’ starring actor-director Samuthirakani in lead roles aims to give anything unique, despite the fact that there’s been many Kollywood movies that dealt with true-based stories.
Touted to be a crime thriller flick, the Kaala fame actor will be sharing the screen along with stars Hari Krishnan, Lizzie Antony and Maheshwari in important roles.

Produced by Pa. Ranjith, the plot centres around a police officer who is about to retire and is confronted with a problem, and the film’s gripping trailer has raised the stakes. The close to two minute teaser gives the audience a glimpse of how intense the film is going to be with some bold and hard hitting dialogues. The flick seems to deal with how a powerless lower ranked policeman takes on the powerful higher ranked policemen within the department.
