Air Selangor had previously announced that odor pollution identified in Sungai Semenyih will affect water disruptions in a few areas in Selangor. As of recently, 95% of the impacted areas’ water supply has been restored.

The operations of the Sg Langat Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Langat 2 WTP have fully resumed, and the water supply for the areas impacted by the water treatment plant outage is scheduled to entirely recover at 11 pm on 22nd December, 2021.

Two areas have totally recovered since the Cheras Batu 11 Water Treatment Plant (WTP) began operations, while the other 26 impacted areas in the Hulu Langat region are scheduled to fully recover at 10 am on 24th December, 2021.

As soon as the floods drained, the cleaning operation at Cheras Batu 11 WTP began. In addition, Air Selangor staff on the ground have discovered asset damage so that the repair and restoration procedure may begin immediately.

Air Selangor is still supplying alternative water supply to the impacted areas through water tankers and bottled water to the affected customers and throughout the process, everyone followed social distancing and used face masks when collecting water from water tankers.

Air Selangor hopes that customers who have been given water would utilise it wisely so that the recovery effort in the other impacted regions may proceed as planned.

Customers’ patience is appreciated while Air Selangor works to guarantee that clean and safe water can be delivered as normal.

Information will be provided by Air Selangor on a regular basis via all of their official communication channels, including the Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, or by calling the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300.
