Flood disasters are a huge inconvenience for everyone, and it’s heartwarming to see people from all walks of life coming together during these tough times and assisting without expecting anything in return. One such samaritan is P. Puvaneswaran.

P. Puvaneswaran recently started providing free electrical repairs and wiring services to flood victims’ homes.

Growing up in a not so well to do household in Pulau Carey, with parents who made a livelihood on minimum pay in the plantation industry, he was always afraid of the lights going out in his home.

He began studying electronics and electrical wiring on his own and by accompanying others to work around 20 years ago. The forty-year-old father is happy to label him as a self-employed electrician and wireman.

Puvaneswaran says he understands what it’s like to be in the dark. This is why, when the recent floods struck damage across the country, he felt driven to help and he did.

Puvaneswaran is currently going around offering free electrical appliances and wire repairs to flood-affected homes.

He makes 15 to 20 home visits every day, providing free electrical repairs and wiring services to flood victims.

“When I chatted with some of the home residents, several of them sobbed and said they had been without power for four days.

According to The Vibes, he remarked, “It made me sad too, and that kept me driven.”

This humble man who currently employs 3 people, said he didn’t mind providing free services to clients who had already lost thousands of ringgit in damages.

“It’s the very least I can do,” he said.

According to him, the demand for his services from flood victims has been so great that his schedule for the week is completely booked.

He claims to visit 15 to 20 residences every day on average to do repairs but admits that road congestion in some areas has slowed him down.

Day by day, we witness how Malaysians pull together and support one another #Kitajagakita
