Many Hindus have been devastated as a result of the ongoing pandemic and the emergence of a new type of coronavirus, leaving many unable to celebrate Thaipusam.
Fret not, Thaipusam is coming live to your screens this time around. Astro will broadcast a virtual temple visit featuring local temples and Lord Murugan temples in a few foreign countries.
Local temples that will be live-streamed are Thaneermalai Sree Balathandayuthabani Devasthanam Temple (Georgetown, Penang) and Kallumalai Arulmigu Subramaniyar Temple (Ipoh, Perak) respectively.
Other than these temples, Malaysians can look forward to exclusive Thaipusam highlights from Murugan temples in India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and France.

The live stream will begin from 7pm, 17th January 2022, until 11.59pm, 18th January 2022.
Similarly, Astro customers also can also enjoy exclusive Thaipusam highlights from 8am until 3pm, and from 6.30pm until 11.59pm on 18th January via Astro Vaanavil HD (Ch 201), Astro GO and On Demand.
