There are several stories of women who had to give birth in transit or cars as they were unable to reach the hospital in time.
But, what makes the story about a Malay woman who gave birth to her baby in front of the Sri Subramaniyar Temple, Batu Caves interesting was they were blessed with a beautiful baby on the same date (18th January 2022) where we observe to celebrate the victory of good over evil as Goddess Parvati gave the Vel to Lord Murugan to destroy the demon army (Thaipusam).
This could be an emotional rollercoaster joy for the Malay couple and the devotees as Lord Murugan blesses them with a child on this auspicious day.
The devotees around the Batu Caves area gathered there to pray and fulfil their vows early in the morning, and rushed in preparing a make-shift delivery in the car by covering it with sarees and yellow fabric cloth, for the mother who was in the throes of labor by then. Guess the baby had other ideas and arrived sooner than expected – right in the car itself.
After all the tension and suspense, she delivered a healthy baby girl around (7.24 am).
”KAKAK YOU AND YOUR BABY ARE BLESSED”
Reportedly once the baby emerged, the devotee who performed the delivery section even cut the umbilical cord by herself. An ambulance soon arrived to take the couple and their newborn girl to the nearest hospital.
There’s beauty in chaos—more beauty than the best moments you’ll like on social media today!
Team Varnam extends our heartiest congratulations to the parents and kudos to our devotees whom handled the situation smoothly.
Have a safe celebration and remember to adhere to the SOP’s, guys!
