Well, here we are again with some nonsensical gesture by a local burger owner!
In conjunction with the recent Thaipusam celebrations, individuals from a local burger chain, Aris Burger (@arisburgerofficial) landed in hot water after distributing free chicken burgers around Sri Subramaniar Swamy Temple in Batu Caves.
Since the video went viral on social media platforms, it has sparked indignation among Malaysian netizens especially Hindu devotees who have been following a vegetarian diet and fasting before fulfilling their vows.

The burger-distribution video has subsequently been removed from the burger chain’s TikTok account, and has apologised for the split caused by the ideas which were implemented in distributing free chicken burgers. They also said the interview took place a day before Thaipusam.
According to the representative, they went there to interview the Malaysian Hindu community about how they celebrate Thaipusam, and they gave away free burgers to those who did.

In addition, lawyer Usha Veerasenan responded to the recent controversial news via TikTok and stated that Hindus come to Batu Caves during Thaipusam to pray, “This place is for prayers, this place is not for you to promote your (products),” and she also added “Please respect our religion, as a Malaysian.”
