They say love is in the air today, but it ended up falling on a workday, and to make things worse, the sudden rise in cases has made it difficult for couples to celebrate the festival of love outdoors.

You know what, just forget about your worries since we’ve devised a plan that will allow you to spend this special day with your loved one.

We’ve compiled a list of romantic films that you may watch with your significant other in the comfort of your own home.

1. Varanam Ayiram (2008)

Its been 14 years since this film was first aired and continues to have a special place in everyone’s heart. Gautham Menon’s touching hymn to love and relationships will undoubtedly fill your room with overflowing love.

2. Mudhal nee Mudivum Nee (2022)

We’ve seen a number of college flicks in various languages around the country over the years. Only a handful, though, have made an impression and evoked feelings of nostalgia. Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee, directed by Darbuka Siva, is one such film. It’s a basic yet refreshing movie about a group of high school students going through the standard challenges of adolescence. It’ll undoubtedly take 90s youngsters on a nostalgic journey and delve deep into their hearts, since most of the situations are fairly realistic, and everyone has likely experienced the emotions at least once in their lives.

3. Vinnaithandi Vaaruvaya (2010)

Karthik and Jessie are the characters that have remained as powerful as they were when the movie originally came out. Who could ever forget those names? The film brilliantly represents first-time love, the girl-next-door, and other things in life that we encounter in real life. Simply expressed, the film asserts that love is lovely, but it also entails a great deal of sorrow and hardship. Every couple should absolutely see it!

4. Oh Mannapenne (2021)

Despite its plot twists, this is a feel-good romance that is pleasant. Check out the blossoming romance between the two characters, Karthik, a good-for-nothing engineer prepared to marry for money, and Shruthi, his polar opposite, an MBA gold winner who wants to earn money so she may continue her studies in Australia.

5. Shyam Singha Roy (2021)

From this list, my personal favourite is Shyam Singha Roy. In this film, Nani and Sai Pallavi have nailed their roles. Shyam Singha Roy depicts the fight for women’s rights as well as the characters’ intense and passionate love relationship. Please bring tissues because as the movie progresses, you will be moved to tears.

6. Neethane Yen Ponvasantham (2012)

A great movie for a date! Varun and Nithya were childhood friends who fell in love but had to part off owing to their differing job paths. Explore this classic love story, complete with well-crafted music that transports you to the world where both characters lived.

7. Oh My Kadavule (2020)

Oh My Kadavule muses if friends may become lovers and if a couple can find their way back to each other after a breakup. As friends, both characters have generated a real warmth, and their friendship is at the heart of the film’s emotional core. With the rom-com genre it embraces, we can see how the male lead realises his genuine love for his wife, who also happens to be his best friend.
