Dhansika Starts Work On Her Action Movie, Yogi Da

It is a scene we all remember too well from Kabali. The excellent plot twist where we thought she was the villain, Yogi, played by Dhansika whips her gun out at the throng of gangsters, saving Kabali’s rear end. Probably the only female character ever to save Rajinikanth from the baddies, Yogi was unforgettable for many reasons, and it wasn’t just her edgy hairdo.

Dhansika is now back with an action movie of her own, entitled Yogi Da. Rajinikanth fans, calm down. Yogi Da will not be a spin off of Kabali‘s Yogi. Director Gautham Krishna reveals that it will be an action movie featuring Dhansika in the lead, and the film is in no way an extension of Kabali‘s Yogi.

Dhansika has trained extensively to play this character, under the tutelage of stunt master Pandian who has trained the likes of Vikram, Arya and Surya. Viswasam stunt coordinator Siruthai Ganesh will be choreographing the stunts for Yogi Da.

Yogi Da will also feature Kabir Dulhan Singh, Sayaji Shinde, Manobala and Marimuthu. The music will be composed by A R Rahman’s lesser known sister, Isshrath Quadhri. Shooting began yesterday and the film will hit the screens in the first quarter of next year.

Dhansika also has another Tamil film in the pipeline, Kitna, directed by Samuthirakani. The film will be released in all 4 South Indian languages.
