Legendary actor Kamal Haasan is gearing up to win the hearts of Paris folks as his brand KH House of Khaddar prepares to debut at the ongoing Paris Fashion Week 2022.
KH House of Khaddar is a clothing line of authentic handloom blended with Indian heritage and western designs and silhouettes.
KH House of Khaddar is a fashion label founded by India’s finest actor, Kamal Hassan, as a homage to the country’s natural fibre material.
With the same ideology and aim of putting khadi on the world map, well-known fashion designer Amritha Ram collaborated with Kamal Haasan to launch the brand last year.
The vision not only depicts the fact that Khaddar or Khadi represents and emphasises Indianess, but Kamal also stated that it has the capacity to continue to resonate with people because it is a fabric for all seasons.
Apart from its goal of improving the lives of handloom weavers in India, the company takes pleasure in modernising Khadi to appeal to the taste of the current generation by presenting it in a chic new image.
Taking advantage of the positive response from consumers and critics, KH House of Khaddar is now preparing to exhibit its latest collection at Paris Fashion Week 2022, which is now taking place.
To establish a brand that appeals to the young while embracing Khadi, designs and colour palettes had to be created while keeping current trends and styles in mind, which would not have been achieved without the brand’s co-founder, designer and stylist Amritha Ram.
The designer’s notion of giving khadi a complete makeover that appeals to today’s fashion-forward men and women has greatly aided the brand’s success.
Amritha who is also the brand’s Creative Director, remarked “KH House of Khaddar proudly introduces khadi denim at Paris Fashion Week (PFW). It is peculiar, but with a leader and tutor like Kamal Haasan sir at the helm, nothing is impossible.”
“He arises with these concepts, and I apply my knowledge and technical expertise to them. It then grows from a concept to a solid foundation upon which we build. We coloured the khadi in bright colours for PFW ” she also added.
Noting the collection that will be displayed at Paris Fashion Week, the designer said “Texturally, it has a lot of texture and depth, which will appeal to a worldwide audience. This is why we named this collection Warp and Weft. I’m sure everyone will actually love it”.
2022 will be the year of khadi and aims to take the fabric to newer heights – Amritha
“I think I have a responsibility to preserve the history of the garment, and I endeavour to do it with pride. It’s the finest expression of art and love,” she expressed.
Furthermore, Amritha claims that the fabric pushes her and brings out the best in her.
