On 10th March, the grand launch of “EcoQueen-Your Conscious Marketplace” was successfully held at Bunglow 37 commemorating International Women’s Day 2022.
EcoQueen is a marketplace that aggregates sustainable beauty, personal care and lifestyle products sold by local eco-conscious & ethical brands.
The launch was officiated by YBhg PPj. Bersekutu Puan Sri To’ Puan Datuk Proff Dr Shariffa Sabrina Binti Syed Akil, a sustainability advocate, entrepreneur and the President of Pertubuhan Pelindung Khazanah Alam Malaysia (PEKA).
Puan Sri Shariffa Sabrina expressed her happiness towards the launch of the platform saying “EcoQueen is a great initiative which brings all sustainable products under one roof while giving an opportunity to all local entrepreneurs who are making a positive change for a healthier environment through their businesses.”
EcoQueen, your Conscious Marketplace was founded by Priyaa Simmi (Mrs Malaysia World 2019-2021 & Top 15 Mrs World 2021 semifinalist) and sustainability practitioner Kirubaleni Arul Dass with the aim to educate the public and promote the importance of sustainable living and a zero-waste lifestyle.
The event also brought together eco-conscious brand owners, influencers, members of the press and representatives from various environmental organisations that benefit the environment and the people who are aligned with EcoQueen’s values.
A special recognition session was carried out for all women-led business owners who are currently selling on EcoQueen platform and conscious influencers who are making a change with their sustainable businesses and lifestyle.
Among the many recipients of the token of recognition are Puan Sri Shariffa Sabrina (President of PEKA), actresses and sustainability advocates Sharifah Sofia and Sangeetha Krishnasamy, Dr Nisha Thayananthan (Miss Eco Earth 2021), Datin Harveen Kaur (National Director of Mrs Malaysia World), Amy Nur Tinie (Miss Eco International 2019), Juliana Adam (CEO of Biji Biji), Jacqueline Chang (Circular Economy Club Leader), and Davina Goh (Performer and plant base advocate).
The platform is focused on introducing conscious local brands and entrepreneurs (womenpreneurs) to the customers while encouraging more people to shop local.
EcoQueen has been operating since November 2021 as a marketplace and currently hosts 15 brands that carry personal care, beauty and lifestyle products.
