Let’s Unlock Our Hidden Talent In ‘Rap Music Contest 1.0’!

Drop a beat and who knows you might take home a trophy and a cash prize.

Good news for all skilled rappers out there!

PUTRA KALAKSHETRA from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) will conduct a Tamil rap competition for all students. They will be staging an intriguing Tamil rap competition entitled ‘Rap Music Contest 1.0,’ which will run from March 1st to April 30th.

The main aim of this competition is to uncover rapping and Tamil lyric-writing young talents among the Malaysian Tamil Hip-hop music scene.

All students from IPTA, IPTS, IPG, Community Colleges, Matriculation, STPM, Polytechnic, and the general public are all welcome to participate in this competition, which is open to all Malaysians between the ages of 18 and 28.

Most importantly, there is no entry fee for this competition.

In light of the ongoing pandemic, the PUTRA KALAKSHETRA member has arranged for the competition to be held entirely online via Instagram and YouTube.

So there’s no need to be concerned about the ongoing pandemic.

The champion will walk home with a cash prize of RM250 alongside a trophy while the runner-up and second runner-up will receive RM150 and RM100, respectively, as well as a trophy.

What’s more amazing is that, a special award will be given for the Most Popular Rap Video.

A bonus awaits participating UPM students where they will receive Merits and E-certificates for participation. 

The participants who have registered for the contest are required to upload their performance videos to google drive which will be posted on Instagram for judging.
