On 16th March, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the government will now allow a special Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawal of RM10,000.

The application for the special withdrawal are open to EPF members under 55 years old from 1st to 30th April and the payment will be issued on April 20th.

A single payment of the amount applied will be credited directly into the members’ respective current or savings bank accounts.

Members are also advised to make sure their bank accounts are active and registered in their own names. Most importantly, shared bank accounts or business registered accounts are not allowed.

Here’s how you can apply for a Special EPF Withdrawal.

EPF members who wish to withdraw their EPF savings under the Special Withdrawal facility can do so through the EPF portal.

The site can be accessed via the i-Akaun mobile application starting 1st April, 2022.

Members can check their application status starting on the 9th of April via the EPF portal.

The maximum amount allowed for withdrawal under the special withdrawal facility is RM10,000, with a minimum transaction amount of RM50, and members must fully utilise their savings balance in Account 2 first before accessing their Account 1.

Members must also leave a minimum RM100 in their account.

You may visit EPF’s official website by clicking HERE and get the latest update on EPF’s Facebook page.

Starting 1st April, you can also contact the hotline at 03-8922 4848 for inquiries about the Special Withdrawal Facility.
