In a world full of self-centred people, we have frequently encountered generous individuals who put the needs of others ahead of their own. Having said that, meet 21-year-old, Prathap David, the founder of Harappan Ltd with the aim of utilising sustainable investing to make a good impact on the local community and (hopefully) the globe.

Pratap who’s currently pursuing a Bachelor of Medical Science & Doctor of Medicine (MD) delved into the business world of e-commerce at such a young age. According to sources, he amassed wealth at the age of 12 and with proper guidance from the global network, Internet, he started his very own clothing retail brand called Black Wolf Clothing at the age of 17.

What follows was the start of something new for Prathap: investing and trading in the stock market.

As a result, when the markets plummeted during the pandemic, he viewed it as a chance to put what he’d learnt to good use and invest RM150,000 of his own funds. Prathap said Harappan Ltd. is a major step toward obtaining the required resources to have a beneficial impact on people’s everyday life.

Besides getting certified as a legitimate business last month, Prathap revealed that his company is aiming for two goals:

  • Harappan X: Harappaninve’s core initiative with the purpose of lowering food costs through sustainable agriculture. When funding is available, Harappan X aims to begin its vertical farming project by 2025.
  • Harappan Care: Dedicated to charitable activities and long-term support to individuals in need.

Prathap also lauded the development of Harappan to his grandfather, who instilled the valuable habit of kindness in him since he was a child.

“He always placed the community’s well-being first, by supporting charities, aiding his neighbours in need, and offering a shoulder to cry on to people of all races, religion, and skin colour.

Prathap was even more driven to build Harappan because his grandpa was recently diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. He wanted to carry on his grandfather’s legacy on a larger scale and generate a wave of optimism across the world.

“Even though Harappan does not have the same influence on society, I am confident that as a doctor, I can have a huge impact on at least one individual.”
