ASTRO Excites Customers With More Local Tamil Shows In May

Stand-up comedy, action and crime series, medical talk show and Mother’s Day special

May has finally arrived, and we still couldn’t believe that April went by in the blink of an eye!

Being an ASTRO user, all you would think is what are the special programs that they’ve stored for us for the next few weeks.

Well to answer your questions, ASTRO is all set to roll out exciting local Tamil shows, including stand-up comedy, Sirikatheenga Please; action thriller drama series, Astra; medical talk show, Vanakam Doctor; crime mystery series, Bus The Game; and Mother’s Day special live show, Agilamum Nee…Amma on TV, Astro GO and On Demand. 

Let’s dive into a host of local Tamil shows that have been lined up for you by ASTRO this May:

Sirikatheenga Please

The first stand-up comedy show, Sirikatheenga Please, featuring hilarious local comedians such as Suresh (RAAGA), Asurajan aka Asu, Piravina Ragunathan and Hindra Bose on 3 May, 9.30pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202).

Astra

Action thriller drama series with gutsy stunts, Astra by local filmmaker, Rubindran Nair, starring popular local talents such as Irfan Zaini, Yasmin Nadiah, Karnan G Grack, and more. The series revolves around a group of mercenaries conducting a series of crimes flawlessly puzzling the detectives hunting them down. Astra premieres on 2 May, 9pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202).

Vanakam Doctor

Medical talk show, Vanakam Doctor featuring debutant host, Dr Punithan Shan. The show features insights on common illness among Malaysians such as cancer, obesity, HIV, diabetes and more, while creating awareness on the symptoms, diagnostic tests, and more. The show will also feature inspiring stories from survivors. Vanakam Doctor premieres on 2 May, 9pm on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201).

Bus The Game

Crime mystery series, Bus The Game by local director, Loaeswaran Mahalinggam featuring talented local artistes including Suthakar Zack, Narkkunalingam Nesanaravanan, Sreedharan Shankar, and more. The series revolves around a mysterious disappearance of a school bus with 30 pupils. Bus The Game premieres on 2 May, 9.30pm on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201).

On the other hand, customers can participate in a Mother’s Day special live show, Agilamum Nee…Amma hosted by local talent, Aruna Raj, to convey their wishes by calling in to 03-95437180, while additionally enjoying special featured performances, mother-daughter interviews and more.

So gear up to watch Agilamum Nee…Amma live on 8 May, 1pm on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201).
