Do you want to improve and build good self-confidence? Wait no more!
The annual 22nd Miss MalaysiaIndian Global (MMIGLOBAL) has returned after a hiatus of two years. The pageantry is in search of the next beauty queen who will don the exquisite crown and sash. This is not an ordinary beauty pageant, but a personal empowerment pageant. MMIGLOBAL has been empowering Malaysian Indian women of all shades and sizes for the past twenty years through their numerous development programs.
With regards to the search, Miss MalaysiaIndian Global 2022 will kick off with Walk-in Auditions and Personal Enhancement Programme (PEP) workshop series this Sunday, 5th June at PJ Hilton.
This is open to all single Malaysian Indian females who are aged between 20-30 years old.
The personal empowerment pageant, which stands apart from the rest with its Personal Enhancement Programme (PEP) as its bedrock, will see Malaysian supermodel Vanizha Vasanthanathan and photographer extraordinaire Clash Donerrin.
Vanizha Vasanthanathan will be sharing the story of her journey and give insights into the modeling industry exclusively for MMIGlobal participants while Clash Donerrin will provide professional lighting and angle tips, as well as discuss the differences between posing for pageant photography and posing for fashion photography and more.
The workshop is compulsory for all pageant participants.
According to MMIGLOBAL Chief Operating Officer Dr Mohanaapriya Sina Raja, both the PEP workshops and pageants have been re-engineered to keep up with social changes in these post-pandemic times. This year’s training programs will be in a hybrid style as they incorporate both online and in-person activities.
“Since its inception in the year 2000 by Ms T. Pushparani, we have always strived for personal and professional development of the MalaysianIndian woman. With improved confidence and self-esteem, our past winners and finalists have done very well in their chosen fields, the most recent being Dr Lavanya Sivaji, who won Miss World Malaysia 2021,” said Dr Mohanaapriya.
This year’s Grand finals will be held at the Jen by Shangrila hotel in Georgetown Penang on 10th September. Winners will walk away with cash, flight tickets, and gifts. Organised by the 20-year-old MMICARE Association, this year’s grand final will be mainly to set up a community kitchen in Kapar and also to ensure a steady supply of nutritious meals to reach the children of the B40 communities.
Having said that, MMICARE has been actively involved in a meal-and-tuition program in Kapar since 2017 and has successfully seen one of its students reach STPM and another one secure a scholarship to pursue mechanical engineering at Seberang Prai Polytech. Sounds interesting right?
Aside from its project in Kapar, MMICARE is also actively involved in Reproductive Health and Personal Image and Environment awareness workshops for teens.
