With this, Matthews has penned down an emotional note on his official social media;

From a boy who was pushed away in high school by students, teachers and people for not being academically excellent and told I’ll never have a future to a man who worked hard day and night to change that and is now a part of this country’s history (Matthews Izzac)

“To be the first Malaysian in the FIFAe Club World Cup is beyond unbelievable and upon receiving this national record title is just mind-blowing,” this dedicated man expressed.

Matthew also conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Abe Sudin, with whom he had travelled for almost ten years.

According to a clip from TV1 which was uploaded by MBOR on their official Facebook page, Matthew said it was an unexpected moment that had never been envisioned. “Honestly, I feel very proud to be able to put our country’s name on the renowned prestigious stage,” he remarked regarding recognition by MBOR.

Once again, congratulations on securing a spot in MBOR and here’s wishing you all the best in your future endeavours, Matthew!
