The recent success of a University student proves that nothing is impossible for a determined person, as his hard work and sweat are all worth it at the end of the day.

With that being said, meet Yishal Thillinadan from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) who has made headlines all over social media platforms as he received the Best Accounting Student Award 2021 from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) recently.

Spearheaded by Pusat Perakaunan UMS, the accounting student shot to fame as he received the award in conjunction with the MIA International Accountants Conference (MIAC) 2022. According to MIA Accountants Today, the conference which took place from the 9th till 13th June, advocates for the profession to adopt and integrate ESG issues such as climate change, carbon reporting and sustainability into the business agenda, while leveraging technologies and digital tools, for long-term agility, resilience and relevance.

Hailing from Selangor, Yishal has also participated as an AIESEC volunteer at the University Andalas (Unand), Padang, Indonesia in 2019.

Known as the world’s largest youth-run organisation, AIESEC is an international non-governmental and Not-for-profit that provides young people with leadership development, cross-cultural internships, and volunteer exchange globalist experiences. On the other hand, the organisation focuses on empowering young people to make a progressive social impact as well.

Varnam Malaysia is immensely proud of your achievements, Yishal!
