In our previous article, with the recommendations made, we hope you had a wonderful hike last weekend.

Nevertheless, we are back with another selection of breath-taking trekking trails that will also make you work up a sweat, which will include hiking trails for all levels of hikers, as well as pathways for a leisurely stroll.

Here is a list of locations that are close to KL that you shouldn’t miss;

Taman Tugu

Taman Tugu is a wonderful family-friendly hiking track that is simple to conquer, even for young hikers and novices. A well-maintained trail with over 1000 trees, including indigenous species, is situated close to the famous Tugu Negara in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. It is made up of about 5 km of forest trails and is open to the public every day for free.

Bukit Kutu

Bukit Kutu, a moderate trek that takes 3 to 4 hours to complete, is a mountain in Kuala Kubu Bahru, Selangor, that rises 1,053 metres above sea level. The summit of the hills provides stunning beauty, including a panoramic view of clouds, valleys, and mountains. Since there are several steep slopes that may be difficult for novices, the hike would require considerable endurance.

KL Forest Eco Park

Within easy walking distance to the KL Tower, the KL Eco Park is tucked away in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. It’s one of the oldest forest reserves in the nation and is referred to as the green lung of the city. If you want to spend a morning away from the rush and bustle of the city, this place is ideal. The biggest feature of this park is its Canopy Walk, an aerial bridge made of wood and steel that provides spectacular views of the KL cityscape.

Bukit Dinding

People of all ages and stamina levels can benefit from this simple exercise. Indeed, it’s likely that you’ll see lots of young families hiking Bukit Dinding with their kids. The best thing about this hill is that it has a concrete tarmac road-like track that is entirely paved. Although it appears to be a fairly steady and simple ascent, there are some steep spots that will make you sweat. Upon reaching the summit, the surroundings will be lush with big trees.

Mount Nuang

Mount Nuang, one of the most difficult walks, is roughly an hour’s drive from KL. Prepare yourself for the muddy trails, waterfall, bamboo groves, river crossings, and dense jungle. You’ll need to cross rivers, so make sure you bring enough water and sturdy footwear. The hike can last up to 12 hours to accomplish, so you should prepare for it beforehand. If you plan on going, please remember to apply for a hiking permit.

Your thoughts must still be reeling at the beauty of nature. Make the most of your weekend by hiking on one of these trails.
