The SHUTTLERS have turned into heroes now!

‘Malaysia Boleh’!

It wasn’t all about laughter and cheering when the world No. 10 women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan & Thinaah Muralitharan sealed the win by clinching the seventh gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022 that took place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

It’s an intriguing start for Pearly-Thinaah with Lauren Smith-Chloe Birch. We were amazed at their momentum that kept shifting between the two sides and it was the women duo who took a narrow one-point lead into the break.

Check out the behind-the-back defense by Thinaah. Indeed a ‘WOW’ moment that garnered the attention of Malaysians and thanks to RTM for recording the part right on time.

The sheer exuberance that Malaysians show to the players were nothing but amazing. They have expressed their pride on their social media platforms, and Varnam Malaysia has compiled some of them as it’s a moment for us to behold:

Feels like just yesterday when I first know Pearly & Thinaah at Sudirman Cup 2021. Watching them giving their all in every games they play (special mention those matches against Polii & Rahayu) I knew they could go far and I’m damn right! 🥹 #BadmintonMalaysia https://t.co/jOvyNMTgwI

Thinaah throwing her racket up in the sky as celebration and Pearly caught Thinaah’s racket on reflex. I love this pair.

Thank you, Thien How & Rexy. Besides being a great coach, you’ve shown the entire world that the duos are indeed a powerful force.
