Recently a dedicated educator, Associate Professor Dr Vengadesh Periasamy was appointed as Deputy Head of the Low Dimensional Materials Research Centre UM and the Deputy Chairman of the MASS Chapter UM.
According to CUMIG, the Outstanding Professional Award holder was absorbed as a faculty member after he completed his PhD in 2007 because of his unwavering enthusiasm as a Research Assistant in the Department of Physics at the University of Malaya (UM).
Being an expert in Biophysics, Fuel Cell Technology, DNA Electronics and more, the educator from UM has received numerous accolades and awards throughout his teaching sphere for his exceptional contributions and innovations.
Notably, Vengadesh and his team clinched the coveted Newton Award in 2017 for successfully developing an integrated microbial fuel cell prototype using tropical algae from wastewater.
He serves as an example of how dedication and incredible work spirit can help one attain great things.
